10-hour workshop in the Bowspring method with Desi Springer and John Friend.

 

The Bowspring is a universal postural template for optimizing any movement or posture — yoga, athletics, and especially moving around in our daily life—for greater lightness, agility, ease, and power. This dynamic alignment method is also highly therapeutic for any musculo-skeletal issues including lower back problems, hip pain, knee or shoulder injuries.

 

Most importantly, the Bowspring method integrates a mindfulness training with the cultivation of compassion and accountability to help each of us create our own individual destiny. In this weekend, we are offering a transformative shift in self-knowing, which can reveal a path toward harmony and long-term health.

 

In each class, students will be taught katas - set sequences of simple, repeated movements which in addition to being the flowing form for learning and practicing the Bowspring unveil unconscious postural patterns. With new awareness of our habitual body language through an increased postural awareness, we bring increasing balance to our mind-body health. By integrating this new postural technology of the Bowspring method, we gain the freedom to choose a healthier, more positive body language that we communicate not only to others, but to the deepest part of ourselves.

 

Through the Bowspring practice students can expect to cultivate increased:

●        Inner strength and courage to look at their unconscious mind-body habitual patterns

Desi and John will guide any level of student, from beginners to yoga teachers and fitness instructors, from the base of the Bowspring experience to the summit of a powerful transformational experience in just two days. This workshop is composed of four classes that will progressively lead students from the most basic forms and movements of the Bowspring to a more intermediate/advanced practice on Sunday afternoon. Since the classes will build cumulatively, we encourage a 2-day commitment. Saturday can be experienced in single sessions for those students who want to experience the Elementals of the Bowspring method only, and there are no drop-ins on Sunday afternoon.
